Phlebotomists draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. Phlebotomists may also explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions. Phlebotomists find employment in clinics, hospital/commercial laboratories, large medical offices, and blood banks.
The Phlebotomy Program at Blinn College consists of 72 hours of classroom, 24 hours skills lab, and 116 hours of clinical experience.
