Clinical Medical Assistant

Certified Medical Assistants provide certain clinical and administrative duties under the direction of a physician in a medical office for ambulatory patients. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Total Tuition: $1,700.00

The Medical Assistant program at Blinn College is conducted at the Blinn Post Office Campus, 301 Post Office Street, Bryan, Texas 77803. The program consists of 200 hours of training leading to examination for Certification by the National Healthcareer Association.

  • MDCA 1001  Basic Medical Assistant Technology Contact Hours: 32
  • MDCA 1017   Procedures in a Clinical Setting Contact Hours: 120
  • MDCA 1060   Clincal - Medical/Clinical Assistant Contact Hours: 48

Total: 200 Contact Hours
