Contact Hour Total:48 The application of common algebraic functions, including polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, and rational, to problems in business, economics, and the social sciences are addressed. The applications include mathematics finance, including simple and compound interest and annuities; systems of linear equations; matrices; linear programming; and probability, including expected value.
Prerequisite(s): Appropriate college readiness classification score, or an appropriate diagnostic level score, or have completed an appropriate mathematics NCBO with a grade of “C” or better, or have completed MATH 0300 with a grade of “Passing Intermediate Algebra (PIA)”, or approval of the Academic Dean or designee.
