Credit Hours:3 Lecture Hours:3 Contact Hour Total:48 Overview of the law and the legal professions including legal concepts, systems, and terminology; substantive areas of law and the federal and state judicial systems; ethical obligations and regulations; professional trends and issues with emphasis on the paralegal’s role.Paralegal students are recommended to take this course in their first semester but variations in course sequences may be approved to accommodate individual scheduling. Prerequisite(s): Students are eligible for immediate enrollment with the following minimums reading scores or requirements; 342 TSIA, or 151 THEA, or 26 Asset, or 91 MAPS, or 46 Accuplacer, or 46 Compass, or if a student is exempt from taking READ 304, or if student has passed READ 304 with a “”C”” or better.
