Return to: Programs of Study This degree prepares students by providing the academic foundation necessary to successfully transfer and pursue baccalaureate degrees in education that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. This degree has two additional science courses for transfer beyond those required in the Associate of Arts in Education, as well as four education courses beyond the Core Curriculum. |
Core Component: 42 Credit Hours
Communication: 6 Credit Hours
Choose Two (2): Mathematics: 3 Credit Hours
If any overflow hours are earned from Math or Life and Physical Sciences, they will be applied to the Component Area Option.
Choose One (1):
Life and Physical Sciences: 6 Credit Hours
If any overflow hours are earned from Math or Life and Physical Sciences, they will be applied to the Component Area Option.
Choose a minimum of Six (6) Hours:
Language, Philosophy, Culture: 3 Credit Hours
Choose One (1): Creative Arts: 3 Credit Hours
Choose One (1): American History: 6 Credit Hours
Choose Two (2): Government/Political Science: 6 Credit Hours
Social and Behavioral Sciences: 3 Credit Hours
Choose One (1): Component Area Option: 6 Credit Hours
If any overflow hours are earned from Math or Life and Physical Sciences, they will be applied to the Component Area Option.
