Pharmacy Technicians work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and perform technical and clerical duties in the pharmacy. The technician may measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts/dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Under the direction of a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician will prepare medications. Pharmacy Technicians may work in hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, mail order pharmacies or in retail settings, such as CVS, Walgreens and local grocery stores.
This program is available completely online, allowing students to earn their Pharmacy Technician certificate through Blinn College regardless of their location.
