Notes: A course that introduces the student to machining fundamentals. The student will use basic machine tools including the lathe, milling machine, drill press, power saw, and bench grinder. Machine terminology, theory, math, part layout, and bench work using common measuring tools is included. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance.

  1. Demonstrate set-up and use of the lathe, milling machine, drill press, power saw, and bench grinder applying good housekeeping, andproper to perform safety. 
  2. Uses precision instruments to perform cench work including part layout, drilling, reaming, taping, press fitting, location of hole centers and surfaces.
