Contact Hour Total:96 Fundamental principles of chemistry for majors in the sciences, health sciences, and engineering; topics include measurements, fundamental properties of matter, states of matter, chemical reactions, chemical stoichiometry, periodicity of elemental properties, atomic structure, chemical bonding, molecular structure, solutions, properties of gases, and in introduction to thermodynamics and descriptive chemistry. The lab experiments are designed to support theoretical principles presented in lecture and include an introduction of the scientific method, experimental design, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of lab reports.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 1314, MATH 1414, MATH 1316, MATH 1324, MATH 1325, MATH 2305, MATH 2318, MATH 2320, MATH 2412, MATH 2413, MATH 2414, or MATH 2415 with a grade of “C” or higher or an SAT math score of 550 or higher or an ACT math score of 22 or higher.
