This is the study of concepts related to the provision of nursing care for children and families. The course will include health promotion and restoration, illness or injury prevention, as well as application of the nursing process to the pediatric population and their families in the acute, primary, and school settings. Topics include knowledge, judgement, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This course is in the Texas Field of Study for Nursing. Prerequisite(s): Admission to ADN Program, RNSG 1341 , RNSG 1260 , RNSG 1251 , RNSG 1161 , RNSG 2213 , RNSG 2160  AND/OR RNSG 1327 , RNSG 1162 (LVN-T only). Corequisite(s): Students must be co-enrolled in RNSG 2162  clinical component, as well as co-requisite course RNSG 1343 , RNSG 2261 , RNSG 1110 , and RNSG 2163 .
